Shahzada Ali Asgar Kalimuddin Saheb, also known as Mazoon al-Dawat Mazoon al-Da’wat[3][4], is a prominent figure in the Dawoodi Bohra community. He is the son of the 51st Dai al-Mutlaq, Taher Saifuddin, and currently serves as the Mazoon al-Dawat to the 53rd Dai al-Mutlaq, Mufaddal Saifuddin. In 2018, he was appointed as one of the rectors of Al Jamea tus Saifiyah, an esteemed educational institution.
Kalimuddin saheb was bestowed with the title of Shaykh (Arabic: الشيخ, lit. ‘leader’) and given the honorific of Kalimuddin (Arabic: كليم الدين) by his father, Taher Saifuddin. From a young age, he actively participated in religious activities within the Dawoodi Bohra community, conducting teachings and delivering religious discourses known as sabaqs.
He holds the position of president in both the Burhani Education Society and Burhani College, demonstrating his commitment to promoting education within the community. Throughout his service, he has played an instrumental role in various initiatives, including Alvazratus Saifiyah during Taher Saifuddin’s tenure and the establishment of Al Madrasa Saifiyah Burhaniyah (MSB) during the tenure of Mohammed Burhanuddin.
Kalimuddin saheb’s contributions extend beyond the religious and educational realms. He has led the Ashara Mubaraka sermons in several cities, including Ujjain, Mumbai, Karachi, Colombo, Dubai, and Kuwait. Additionally, he has been actively involved in overseeing significant projects such as the construction of Raudat Tahera, Saifee Hospital, and MSB worldwide.
Recognizing his leadership and dedication, Kalimuddin Saheb has been appointed to important positions within the community. In January 2018, he was appointed as Mukasir by the 53rd Dai al-Mutlaq in Surat, and three months later, in April 2018, he became one of the rectors of Al Jamea Tus Saifiyah. Later, in March 2019, he was appointed as Mazoon by the 53rd Dai al-Mutlaq in Ahmedabad.
Furthermore, Kalimuddin Saheb has been entrusted with the responsibility of representing the Dai al-Mutlaq in Mumbai since 2018. His leadership extends to the annual Hajj pilgrimage, where he has served as the Amirul Hajj, overseeing the pilgrimage on seven occasions, with the most recent being in 2014.
In recognition of his contributions, Kalimuddin Saheb was honored with the Key of the City of La Possession in a reunion ceremony held on July 16, 2019, at the municipal council hall.
Shahzada Ali Asgar Kalimuddin’s unwavering dedication to his community, his educational endeavors, and his leadership roles have established him as a respected figure within the Dawoodi Bohra community. Through his numerous responsibilities and initiatives, he continues to make significant contributions to the betterment of the community and the promotion of its values.
